Position Description: Fundraising Director
Reports to: Board of Directors
Direct Reports: Gala Chair, Fundraising Committee
Term: Up to 3 years
Description: The fundraising director builds and maintains potential and current donor relationships. Work with the Executive Director to identify specific projects for funding. Actively engaging with the community to seek donations from members, businesses, foundations, public funding, and the outdoor/biking industry. Funds raised are essential to the continued construction, maintenance, and operations of Duluth’s Trails and COGGS.
The Fundraising Director will:
Manage the Donor Program:
Create and maintain sponsorship incentives
Make donor requests (local to nationwide)
Complete follow-up correspondence (invoices, thank you’s and annual tax statements)
Maintain donor CRM database (including contact and donation information)
Work with Marketing Director to ensure donor recognition through press releases, media events, social media, weekly newsletter, etc.
Oversee the Grant Writing Committee chair and participate in the Grant Committee
Develop and promote the Grant Committee chair position
Identify grant and funding opportunities to complete as a group
Oversee the Gala Chair and participate in the Gala Committee, particularly as the corporate sponsor representative and relationship manager.
Brainstorm new and creative ways to find money for the COGGS trail fund and annual budget.
